Register your child TODAY for summer and fall child care programs
BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (April 4, 2014) – Are your preschoolers going to college this year? They can at the Community College of Baltimore County Children’s Learning Centers (CLC) on the Catonsville, Dundalk and Essex campuses. And you do not have to be a student for your child/children to attend!
There are a lot of perks from being in a childcare program on a college campus. Not only are CCBC Children’s Learning Centers educational, economical and family-involved, they each offer the “cultural flavor” of a different campus.
At CCBC Catonsville the children benefit from monthly 40-minute presentations from groups such as the Maryland ZooMobile, Department of Natural Resources “Scales and Tails,” the National Aquarium “Classroom Outreach”, Baltimore County Library’s “Read Rover Program” and the Irvine Nature Center. The Center has openings for 2, 3, 4 and 5-yr-olds. For additional information, contact Gerard Cohee, director, of CCBC Catonsville CLC, at 443-840-4242. CCBC Catonsville is located at 800 South Rolling Road in Catonsville.
CCBC Dundalk’s CLC children enjoy the green campus spaces year round, including its shaded playground as well as other campus facilities such as the gym or air conditioned racquetball court when it is too hot outdoors. School-age summer children use computer labs and the campus library. Students enjoy monthly speakers and field trips to parks, museums, nature centers and other places where children can be active, including a yoga class and a Music and Movement class. The Children’s Learning Center at CCBC Dundalk has summer openings for ages 4 through 10 and openings for fall for preschoolers, ages 2 – 5. Patricia Shafer, director of CCBC Dundalk CLC, at 443-840-3190. The Dundalk campus is located at 7200 Sollers Point Road in Dundalk.
At CCBC Essex the children enjoy performances of the Children’s Playhouse of Maryland, Cockpit-in-Court Summer Theatre and events put on in conjunction with the World Arts Festival. During the summer children enjoy weekly excursions away from the campus for venues such as the circus. The Center at CCBC Essex has openings for 2, 3, 4 and 5-yr-olds. For additional information, contact Merri Cage, director of the CCBC Essex CLC, at 443-840-1641. CCBC Essex is located at 7201 Rossville Boulevard in Rosedale, Md.
