Leading museum curation, collections and research

Dr. Ariana Curtis, Curator for the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of African American History and Culture will provide students with an overview of her career trajectory, specifically: anthropology, museum curation, the interpretation of Latin American and Latinx material culture, and what Black-centered Latinx work in a national museum can look like.

The lecture will encourage student engagement, critical thinking, and application of concepts
related to history, representation, personal identity and national narratives. This event will be co-sponsored with the Social Sciences Pathway.
