- Increase faculty representation at CCBC that serves disadvantaged students, especially in areas like the Humanities, where representation is low.
- Offer mentorship and professional development to help Fellows improve teaching, leadership and integration into the college community.
- Partner with Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) to recruit Fellows.
- Provide support to Fellows through orientation, CCBC programming and involvement in student support programs.
Mentorship and Professional Development
As a faculty fellow, you’ll be paired with a CCBC mentor as well as a discipline-specific coach, both of whom will guide you toward a faculty position. Your partners will:
- help you establish a visible presence in your academic department
- facilitate opportunities for involvement in college service
- attend professional development activities with you
- help you connect with CCBC programs serving the needs of our community who are in need of greater attention
You'll also get to engage with CCBC’s culture through service opportunities, professional learning and collaboration with faculty, staff and administrators.
- Year one, semester one: teach up to three courses; earn $1,050/credit and a $500 stipend
- Year one, semester two: teach up to three courses; earn $1,050/credit and a $1,000 stipend
- Year two: teach four courses; earn a $60,000 salary plus additional benefits
The Faculty Fellows program is open to:
- Current graduate students: must have completed at least 24 graduate credits and expect to graduate by May 2026 or earlier
- Ph.D. or doctoral students: must have completed at least 30 graduate credits in the discipline you plan to teach
- Individuals with a master’s degree: degree must be in the discipline you plan to teach
Additional requirements:
- Demonstrate an interest in mentoring marginalized students, including those in our less served population of students
- Be eager to receive mentorship and participate in leadership development
- Be available to teach up to three courses in the first semester and up to three courses in the second semester
- Teach four courses per semester during their second year
