Empowering the educators of tomorrow

Want to start a rewarding career in academia? The Faculty Fellows program at CCBC is an excellent opportunity to gain two years of teaching experience and take the next step in your career.

Our mission is to bring diverse scholars together to collaborate, grow and succeed as educators. We are looking for candidates who are dedicated to a global community interest in higher education and have a passion for mentoring, teaching and supporting marginalized students.

About the program

  • Increase faculty representation at CCBC that serves disadvantaged students, especially in areas like the Humanities, where representation is low.
  • Offer mentorship and professional development to help Fellows improve teaching, leadership and integration into the college community.
  • Partner with Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) to recruit Fellows.
  • Provide support to Fellows through orientation, CCBC programming and involvement in student support programs.

Mentorship and Professional Development

As a faculty fellow, you’ll be paired with a CCBC mentor as well as a discipline-specific coach, both of whom will guide you toward a faculty position. Your partners will:

  • help you establish a visible presence in your academic department
  • facilitate opportunities for involvement in college service
  • attend professional development activities with you
  • help you connect with CCBC programs serving the needs of our community who are in need of greater attention

You'll also get to engage with CCBC’s culture through service opportunities, professional learning and collaboration with faculty, staff and administrators.
