Braxton J. Peters has performed in the Baltimore-Washington area in oratorio, musical theater and opera. His oratorio repertoire includes such works as the Brahms Requiem, the Haydn Creation, Walton Belshazzar’s Feast and the Vaughan Williams Sea Symphony. Among the many leading roles in musical theater his favorites include Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha [Virginia Opera, Annapolis Opera, Towsontown Theater and Second Star Playhouse], the title role in Sweeney Todd [Cockpit in Court and Second Star Playhouse], Dr. Panglos in Candide [Theater Hopkins], Title role in Phantom of the Opera [Toby’s Theater], God in Children of Eden [Toby’s Theater], La Cage aux Folles and Camelot. In the world of opera Mr. Peters has performed starring roles in Crucible, La Boheme, La Traviata, Madama Butterfly, and Die Fledermaus. In addition to performing Mr. Peters has directed operas, operettas and musicals including La Traviata, La Boheme, Madama Butterfly, Tosca, Cosi fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Marriage of Figaro, Carmen, Die Fledermaus, Student Prince, Mikado, Carousel and South Pacific. As a composer Mr. Peters has had his Three War songs for Baritone and Piano premiered at the Composers Forum at the College of Notre Dame. For the past twenty-five years he has been the company director of the Annapolis Opera. He has been an adjunct faculty member at CCBC for over 35 years teaching Applied Voice on both the Essex and Catonsville campuses.
