Donna DiStefano received her bachelor of music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University and master of fine arts degree from California Institute of the Arts. Her musical activities as a free-lance percussionist include chamber, ethnic, jazz, pop/rock, solo and symphonic music. She is currently principal timpanist/percussionist with Concert Artists of Baltimore. She has performed with the Richmond Symphony, Harrisburg Symphony and the Chorale Arts Society of Baltimore. Ms. DiStefano has been associated with Young Audiences of Maryland since 1979 as a performer in various programs. She is founder of the Charm City Marimba Band and a member of the percussion ensembles Percussion 3 and Global Percussion.
At CCBC she teaches Applied Percussion, Music Fundamentals, and Introduction to Fine and Performing Arts. She is also a percussion instructor at the DC Youth Orchestra Program and The Baltimore School for the Arts TWIGS Program.
