John Morgan is a trombonist and educator. He has performed with and directed groups in a variety of styles, nationally and internationally. He received his B.M. in Jazz Studies from University of Cincinnati, M.M. in Jazz Studies from the University of Southern California, and Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Southern California. As a professional trombonist, he has performed with many internationally-acclaimed jazz artists including Bill Holman, Bill Watrous, Bob Mintzer, and Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band. He is an active freelance musician in the Baltimore and Washington DC areas. He teaches Music Fundamentals and Introduction to Fine and Performing Arts at CCBC, where he also directs the Power House Big Band.
