Creative entrepreneurs invest in their own talent by creating businesses to sell goods and services that display that talent. They are designers, artists and artisan makers. In this course series, students will learn the foundational knowledge necessary for starting a creative business. Topics will include learning how to create a brand that is recognizable and synonymous with the goods and services of the businesses. Students will learn how to sell at markets, how to protect the intellectual property associated with the business and how to promote the business through digital marketing. Students entering this program should have good planning and organizational skills; strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and good problem-solving skills.Students will be better prepared to start their own business entity or manage a small business. Careers in this field are available in a broad range of privately held companies, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.
