Your Pathway to a Career as a Skilled Craft Professional!

Classes Begin September 2021!

Industry-Accredited Training | Job-Placement Assistance | Financial Aid Available

The Construction Education Academy (CEA) is a partnership between CCBC and Associated Builders and Contractors. ABC of Greater Baltimore is a leader in the region for construction training. The CEA offers industry-accredited skilled-trades training with a pathway to registered apprenticeship recognized by the Maryland Department of Labor.

This 354-hour certificate is designed to train students for a career in skilled-trades. Training includes hands-on experience in state-of-the-art laboratories, blueprint reading, OSHA safety training, and more.

This certificate is unique in that students are provided with supportive courses such as financial literacy and job readiness as well as working with a case manager/advocate. These are all part of the program.

Every graduate of the CEA will have interview opportunities with firms in the region. Students will receive a Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Core Curriculum & Specialties Training, Continuing Education Certificate. After completion of the core curriculum, students can choose one of four specialties: carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing.

Students must attend a mandatory information session prior to acceptance into the program. Those students meeting minimum qualifications will be interviewed.

Minimum requirements include:
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalency
  • Demonstrate basic math skills
Once accepted, students will receive a link to the Academy application, financial aid information, and application and registration instructions. Once the process is complete, students will begin classes in September.

The academy is located at:

2101 East Biddle Street, Suite 5000
Baltimore, MD 21213.
