School of Health Professions Admissions Office

We provide a variety of services related to outreach and recruitment and career counseling for students who are interested in a career in an allied health field. We also receive and process the applications for all of the credit programs in the School of Health Professions.

All credit programs in the School of Health Professions (SHP) are selective admissions programs. Application for admission to these programs is a separate process from admission to CCBC. Admission to the college does not imply admission to any of the programs in the SHP.

Students in the School of Health Professions are required to conduct themselves according to an honor code, exhibit professional behavior, communicate effectively in English, provide proof of health insurance and immunizations, participate in a criminal background check and submit to drug testing.

Admission is competitive and may depend upon these factors:
  • Grades in prerequisite courses
  • Patient contact experience
  • Reference letters
  • Interviews
  • Pre-admission testing
  • Overall CCBC GPA

Admission packets

Each program has its own admission criteria and application deadline. This information is included in each of the admission packets that can be found on the program pages. All applications to SHP programs are only available online. After students have applied to CCBC, they will apply through SHP CAS, CASPA, or ADEA DHCAS according to the directions found in the admission packet for that program. The link to the application service is also contained in the admission packet.

Application fees

The fee for the program admission application is $50.

All students accepted into all School of Health Professions programs are required to pay a one-time fee to participate in background check, data management and clinical tracking programs. Programs used may vary and all fees subject to change.

Applicants who are accepting a seat into the Practical Nursing or Registered Nursing programs are required to pay a non-refundable $200 seat fee to accept their offer of admission and reserve their seats in the program. The fee will be applied to the student account after the first several weeks of class. Students who accept the seat and then do not attend the program will not be eligible for a refund of the fee.
