Mathematics
Math is everywhere and a vital part of your studies—no matter what you do.In fact, mathematics is one of the cornerstone general course requirements for those seeking an Associate's Degree. Those not going into a scientific field will see how math arises in everyday life and in their fields of study. For example, how a monthly mortgage payment is calculated or how to understand the use of statistics in a newspaper article or scholarly article in their field of study.
Science majors will learn the mathematics necessary for understanding and communicating results. Math majors can use this area of concentration to transfer to colleges and universities that offer a baccalaureate degree with a major in Mathematics.
Beyond the General Education requirements and options, this concentration should be considered in light of the requirements of the selected transfer institution.
