Student Conduct

CCBC is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive community where everyone feels safe and respected.

To achieve this, we have a code of conduct that outlines expected behaviors and consequences for violations.

As a current student, you are responsible for upholding the code of conduct. Any violations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including suspension or expulsion.

Your rights and responsibilities

  • Unlawful Discrimination – students shall not engage in, or subject others to, unlawful discrimination.
  • Freedom of Expression and Inquiry – students have First Amendment rights to express themselves in a civil and lawful manner.
  • Academic Integrity – students shall not engage in or condone acts of academic dishonesty.
  • Freedom of Association – when gathered to express views, students must not materially or substantially disrupt college operations or the educational process.
  • Freedom from Arbitrary or Capricious Grading – students have the right to seek appropriate review of legitimate grievances.
  • Right to Privacy – as provided by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, students have the right to privacy, inspection and challenge of their academic records.
  • Freedom of the Press – students may publish news and commentary in accordance with established First Amendment standards.
  • Freedom of Speech – students have the right to express their views in accordance with established campus governance procedure.
  • Freedom from Harassment – students have the right to be free from unlawful intimidation or coercion, including sexual harassment.

Students accused of disciplinary violations are entitled to protections including confidentiality, innocence until proven responsible and a fair trial or hearing. Details are available in the catalog.

Student disciplinary actions can vary from a written warning to probation, suspension or expulsion. Current students can access a full list of detailed sanctions in the catalog.

In the case of academic dishonesty, sanctions are determined by the faculty member and may result in failure of the course. View violation flowchart.

SafeColleges: Required training for students

Students must view and earn at least 80% on the SafeColleges Training online programs, Sexual Violence Prevention and Prescription Addiction: Opioids.

To log in, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to SafeColleges Training.
  2. Your username is your student ID # and can be found in the email that comes from admin@safecolleges.com.
  3. You will see assigned courses. If not using closed captioning, ensure that your volume is turned up so that you can hear the audio accompanying the videos.
