CCBC to celebrate its 3,313 graduates at May 31 Commencement

More than 1,000 expected to participate in the ceremony at CCBC Essex
Baltimore County, MD – The Community College of Baltimore County will hold this year’s Commencement ceremony at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2015. Of the 3,313*students scheduled to graduate this spring (3.3 percent increase from 2014), more than 1,000 degree recipients are expected to participate in the actual ceremony at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard in Rosedale, Md. CCBC is multi-campus community college with three main campuses (Catonsville, Dundalk and Essex) and three extension centers (Hunt Valley, Owings Mills and Randallstown) serving more than 70,000 students annually.
As is a CCBC tradition, the student selected as the President’s Distinguished Graduate, Sagar Chapagain (Towson, Md.), will deliver the Commencement Address. “Commencement is our formal tribute to the 3,313 students who have completed associate degrees and one year certificates this academic year,” remarks Sandra L. Kurtinitis, Ph.D., president of the Community College of Baltimore County.
