President Kurtinitis' opinion on the College Scorecard appears in Community College Daily

The U.S. Department of Education’s release of a College Scorecard has prompted much discussion in regards to its value in helping students choose the right college. Highlighting indicators such as cost, graduation rates, student debt and median salaries after attending have received both praise and concern.

Community colleges can be found in the College Scorecard database but the metrics used don’t fully consider the community college mission. In a recent opinion piece published by Community College Daily, CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis shares her thoughts.
