Congratulations Class of 2016

Nearly 3,000 degrees and certificates awarded

Community College of Baltimore County ended its spring semester with its June 4, 2016 commencement ceremony. Nearly 3,000 students earned their degrees and certificates with approximately 900 attending the actual ceremony.

Described by President Sandra Kurtinitis as the “high point of CCBC’s academic year,” Dr. Kurtinitis presided over commencement praising the graduates for their accomplishments and assuring them that CCBC had prepared them well.

“Graduates, you are poised to bring out the best in the world,” exclaimed Dr. Kurtinitis as she encouraged students to move on to a four-year university or go into the workforce, get good jobs and live a prosperous and happy life.

Commencement speaker and 2016 President’s Distinguished Graduate Danielle Misterka encouraged students as well, asking her fellow graduates to share their success stories in hopes of inspiring others.

“If we can set off a ‘light bulb’ moment for one person at a time, image how we can change the world,” commented Misterka.
