CCBC Cybersecurity Institute Launches Accelerated Stackable Credential Series

Jan 06, 2017

Cybersecurity professionals can qualify for four industry certifications in as little as 16 weeks.

The Community College of Baltimore County is currently registering students for the Cybersecurity Institute’s new Accelerated Stackable Credentials Series. The new series is to begin the week of Jan. 9, 2017. Classes are expected to meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21237.

The Accelerated Stackable Credentials program is designed for Cybersecurity professionals to rapidly obtain or renew one or more of the most highly sought-after Cybersecurity industry certifications. These certifications also support cybersecurity professionals currently working or planning to work in government positions or as government contractors on jobs requiring the DOD 8570.1 certification. Individuals can register to take the complete 16-week series or any of the 4-week specific certification courses that meets their needs.

The Accelerated Stackable Credentials Series is comprised of four courses to be taken over 16 weeks. Classes in the series are arranged in four-week modules: DCOM 251 - Computer Networking, DCOM 258 - Information Security, DCOM 214 – Operating Systems Security, and DCOM 215 – Ethical Hacking and Systems Defense. Individuals successfully completing the series will earn 15 college credits and will be prepared to take the Network+, Security+, Operating Systems Security (SCMP) and Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH) certification examinations. Because CCBC houses a Pearson VUE Authorized Certification Center, individuals will be able to take the certification exam upon their completion of each course.

The Accelerated Stackable Credentials program is being offered jointly by the School of Technology, Art and Design and Continuing Education.
