Galleries at CCBC go virtual

Apr 24, 2020

The Galleries at CCBC have created an online gallery to continue to present art exhibitions during the COVID-19 outbreak. The Galleries currently have three exhibitions on display–along with additional content such as interviews–with more to follow.

Navigating Between brings together three local artists who explore (and often upend) the power relationships that exist between dominant culture and marginalized individuals. In addition to the artwork, there are video interviews with the curators and each of the artists.

Regional visual artists who incorporate words into their artwork, exploring text as a means of commentary and communication, as well as a visual art form are featured in A Thousand Words, Vol. 3. There is also a call for writers to submit their own works of fiction or poetry.

The Galleries at CCBC’s first online-only exhibition, Images of Perseverance, highlights the artwork of local/regional photographers and their day-to-day experience of the COVID-19 outbreak. The exhibition includes an Instagram outreach campaign, encouraging members of the community to share their own images using #perseverepics.

You can go on a virtual visit of the Galleries any time at thegalleriesatccbc.com.
