Dundalk, MD — The Community College of Baltimore County, Dundalk Athletics today announced that Kyle Campbell has been selected as CCBC Dundalk Head Baseball Coach.

“Kyle Campbell brings tremendous enthusiasm to the Lions program,” said CCBC Dundalk Athletic Administrator Marc Ershler. “We are excited to have him join our coaching staff.”

Prior to joining CCBC Dundalk, Campbell spent three seasons (2012-2014) as varsity head baseball coach at Franklin High School in Baltimore County, where he led the Indians to three consecutive winning seasons and the 2014 Baltimore County Championship. For two seasons (2011-2012), Campbell was the head coach of the Titans Baseball Club (Westminster, Md.) 15U and 16U teams, guiding many to the college ranks at Catholic University, Stevenson University, CCBC Catonsville and Harford Community College, to name a few. He also spent three seasons as an assistant coach for the Maryland Orioles and Most Valuable Player 16U (Jupiter, Fla.) teams.

“I am very excited,” Campbell said. “This is a great opportunity for me and this program. We’re going to work hard to get this program back to the great tradition it was. I look forward to working with and developing our student-athletes for the next level.”

Campbell was a four year starter at Franklin, where he was a member of the 2001 MPSSAA 3A North State Championship team and earned All Baltimore County First Team honors in 2003 and 2004. He played college ball at Northwest Shoals Community College (Muscle Shoals, Ala.) and was a member of back-to-back 40+ win teams, including the 2006 North Division ACCC Champions. Campbell earned All ACCC Second Team honors in 2006 as a second baseman.

CCBC Dundalk would also like to thank Elliot “Oppy” Oppenheim for his many years of dedication to the baseball program and for serving as Interim Head Coach this season.
