Dundalk, MD – The Community College of Baltimore County, Dundalk Athletics today announced that it has named Rick Armijo head women’s basketball coach.

Armijo, who is also the Lions’ head softball coach, has more than 15 years of high school basketball coaching experience, having led boys and girl’s programs in Baltimore County. Most recently he coached girls’ basketball at Dundalk High School (2011-2016).

“I’m excited that I was considered and ultimately earned the job,” Armijo said. “I’m in a very unique situation to work for both [the softball and women’s basketball] programs and I believe it can be done without compromising either one, because I’m passionate about both sports. Like any resurging program, my goal is to get this program back to where it needs to be.”

Armijo began coaching after spending nine years in the United States Navy. He also works for Baltimore County Public Schools as a ParaEducator at Dundalk. Armijo resides in Dundalk, Md. with his wife Donna.
