Baltimore County, MD – Community College of Baltimore County has been recognized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for its fundraising efforts with the 2019 CASE Educational Fundraising Award. Ninety colleges, universities and independent schools from across the country received this award.

CCBC was selected to receive the award based on the judges’ analysis of three years of fundraising data considering such factors as solid program growth, breath of support and other indications of a mature, well-maintained program. Each institution demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism and best practice in its fundraising efforts.

In 2017, CCBC completed its first major capital campaign, New Beginnings, which raised nearly $57. 3 million from 10,364 donors. The campaign supported the renovations of the Hilton Center at CCBC Catonsville, along with the Center for Global Education Endowment, scholarships for students, innovative technology in the classroom and faculty and staff development. With an original campaign goal of $42 million, New Beginnings turned into a record-setting $57.3 million successful campaign, setting a new standard of giving at CCBC.

“We are honored to receive this recognition because it represents the efforts of dedicated staff who worked tirelessly to create a “culture of giving” at CCBC, said CCBC’s Vice President of Institutional Advancement Ken Westary. “CCBC has been strengthening its fundraising capacity for several years, through better stewardship, donor engagement, and the development of outstanding initiatives, all created to advance CCBC’s mission. I guess you can say the NB Campaign was a culmination of everything we worked towards as an institution.”
