Erness Abron Hill, Ph.DA native of Memphis, Tenn., Hill has resided with her family in Reisterstown, Md. for the past 15 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services from Spelman College (Atlanta, Ga.), a Master of Arts in African Studies from Clarke Atlanta University and a Ph.D. in African Studies and Research from Howard University in the District of Columbia.
She worked for the Department of Defense for 29 years as a budget analyst, management analyst, and a manpower management analyst. Most recently, Hill worked as the program coordinator for the Museum Studies and Historical Preservation program at Morgan State University (Baltimore, Md.). She also was a lecturer in Art History in the Fine Arts Program there.
A military wife for 25 years, she is married to retired Lt. Col. Mark W. Hill and has two children, Alexis and Mark II, and four grandchildren.
