Updates and resourcesIn Summer 2021, as the culmination of an 24 month process, CCBC will be transitioning from Blackboard Learn to a new learning management system, Brightspace.
We recognize that this will be yet another change in turbulent times, but it is one that ultimately will provide us greater flexibility in dealing with today’s challenges. Brightspace is cloud-based, mobile optimized and designed for collaboration. It creates an improved learning experience for students and faculty alike with its intuitive, responsive user interface.
For the most up-to-date information on the roll-out of Brightspace, please read the InTouch Newsletter.

Get to know Brightspace
Winter 2021 pilot
A small group of credit and continuing education courses will use Brightspace during the Winter 2021 term. Faculty who do not teach during this winter pilot will begin training early spring for the Summer 2021 term.
Winter pilot students using Brightspace will be notified by both the Registrar and their instructor before the course begins. While Brightspace is straightforward to use, students can be assured of resources available in the course, including a Brightspace navigation overview video and a designated 24/7 Brightspace support resource (chat, phone and email).
Winter pilot faculty have already been identified and contacted about next steps. Remaining faculty and staff can get to know Brightspace by watching short video overviews. Once remaining faculty are added to Brightspace in late fall, they will be assigned to their migrated courses from Blackboard as well as the CCBC Brightspace training. For more details, faculty can contact their Academic Partner or Online Learning Coordinator.
