Learn how to make sure the needs of the caregiver are being met, what you need to know about insurance, advance care planning, resources, levels of care, and coping with the stress of giving care.
Explore this modified version of the practice of Yoga. Designed for those with physical limitations which prevent them from being able to practice Yoga the conventional way. Learn Yoga breathing techniques, as well as sitting postures to reduce stress and anxiety and to promote relaxation. Wear comfortable clothing, bring water.
Cooking with Fresh Herbs and Exciting Spices
Learn how to purchase and use fresh herbs and spices to enhance the flavors of several dishes, such recipes as Carrot Ginger Tumeric Souffle and Roast Chicken with thyme and rosemary. All recipes are provided. Materials cost of $30 due at the first class.
Integral Hatha Yoga
Experience the benefits of having a serene mind, harmonious spirit and a powerfully healthy body. Integrate all parts of your being for inner balance and tranquility. Each yoga pose, breathing and meditation will increase flexibility, strength, stamina and confidence. Yoga (sticky) mat required.
Interval Aqua Aerobics
Increase fat-burning capacity with this training. Includes six to nine interval cycles each consisting of a combination of low intensity water exercises and one high intensity set with a brief rest between cycles.
Interval Aqua Aerobics
Increase your physical fitness level through the use of aqua interval training which facilitates high energy expenditure and can increase fat burning. Consists of low-intensity water exercises and one high-intensity set. Warm-up and stretch then proceed through six to nine interval cycles, each followed by a brief rest before beginning the next cycle; relaxation and cool-down follow.
Lap Swim Program
Practice your swim strokes or exercise at your own pace. Join other proficient swimmers and utilize CCBC's aqua fitness equipment (fins, kickboards, swim buoy, etc.) to improve your overall fitness levels. Lifeguard on-duty, but no instructor assigned for this class. Must be able to swim 50 yards with good form and may need to share the lanes. Lockers and showers available. Bring a lock, flip flops, goggles and towel. Swim caps optional. Student registered for Lap Swim can use the pool during "Open Swim"; see schedule for dates and times.
Meditation for Seniors
Learn to use and practice mindfulness mediation. Increase personal ease, reduce stress with techniques that include breathing, body scan, sitting and walking meditation, mindful listening and breaking from automatic responses.
Continuing Meditation Practices for Seniors
Learn additional methods and ways to improve and enrich the practice of meditation. Spend time honing your skills, examining stress factors that inhibit your meditation, and becoming more aware of experiences that affect your meditation. All are welcome.
Mental Health First Aid for Older Adults
Learn the risk factors/warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among older adults. You will not learn to diagnose or provide treatment, but will learn how to develop a five-step action plan and locate resources that support someone who's experiencing mental or emotional crisis. Participant instruction manual is included.

Learn the ways that yoga can help improve your wellbeing and gain techniques for deep relaxation and mental clarity. This practice can be beneficial for those with acute and chronic conditions. Bring a yoga (sticky) mat and wear loose, comfortable clothing.
