Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT)With high projected job growth, working in the apartment maintenance industry—or in a variety of similar facilities—provides a promising career path.
The Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) course series prepares you for an entry-level position in the apartment maintenance industry. Students learn about the apartment business, electrical, appliance maintenance and repair, HVAC, plumbing, and maintenance and repair of the interior and exterior of properties.
Successful completers will receive a letter and provisional certificate from the National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI) and will be eligible for a certificate from NAAEI upon completion of one year of field work. Hands-on, laboratory training is structured in intensive daytime training or part-time evening/weekend.

Learn about HVAC, plumbing maintenance and repair, and the future of air conditioning in the apartment industry. Topics to be covered include heating in the apartment industry, air conditioning in the apartment industry, plumbing systems, and plumbing fixtures.
Electrical and Appliance Maintenance and Repair
Gain a solid foundation in electrical work especially when working with appliances. Topics to be covered included fundamentals of electrical work; electrical circuits, receptacles and fixtures; installation of apartment appliances; and diagnosing and troubleshooting apartment appliances.
