Wood Fund Scholarship

The Kathy and Jerry Wood Foundation has awarded the Community College of Baltimore County’s division of Continuing Education and Economic Development grant funds for scholarship support in career and occupational training.

The Kathy and Jerry Wood Scholarship Fund will expand educational opportunities to students preparing for middle-skill jobs that require some training beyond high school but typically do not require a four-year degree.

Student who qualify may apply for a need-based Wood Fund Scholarships for the following continuing education programs:

  • A+ Certification Basic
  • HVAC Certificate
  • Casino Dealer Training
  • Central Services Technician
  • Certified Apartment Maintenance
  • Certified Logistics/Warehouse Distribution
  • Commercial Vehicle Operator (CDL-A or B)
  • Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Core
  • Diesel Mechanic
  • Hotel Front Desk Clerk
  • Health IT Certificate Program
  • Machine Tool Operator
  • ManageFirst Professional
  • Medical Billing
  • Net+ Certification
  • Nursing Assistant
  • Patient Care Technician
  • Pharmacy Technician
  • Project Management Certification
  • Welding

Students must have identified the program as their major  and have successfully completed program prerequisites (if any).

Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first serve basis. Award amounts vary depending on the individual program and range from approximately $800 to $2000.
