This program provides a well-rounded education and the skills for a variety of academic disciplines and careers. General Studies is especially appealing if you have accumulated a significant number of credits from other programs or colleges.
Having a General Studies major allowed me the flexibility to take classes that interested me. Because of that, I took Journalism and Screenwriting classes. I'm so glad that I did! These classes sparked my love of writing and interest in learning other types of writing.

Majoring in General Studies allowed Lavar Williams to explore many different disciplines. He could take Medical Terminology one day, and Theatre the next. Most of his course have a health care focus though, because that's his ultimate goal.
Students who enroll in our General Studies program will work with CCBC’s Advising Office to help determine what Pathway(s) may be of interest to you, so that you can be placed in one or more that will meet your needs.
