Children’s Developmental ClassDo you know a child with physical, social or developmental challenges? If so, he or she may benefit from the CCBC Children’s Developmental Class.
The Children’s Developmental Class helps children with special needs manage their unique challenges. We assist children, ages 1 -14, in strengthening motor skills, reinforcing communication and language skills, and enhancing social skills through individual and group activities.
Children work with college student mentors to boost:
- Emotional engagement
- Social and communication skills
- Body awareness
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Balance and coordination
We also run a concurrent parent session which provides opportunities for informal education and discussion. Each week guest speakers are invited to address our parent group on a vast range of topics such as nutrition, state and local agencies, community resources, social and emotional health, as well as school issues such as IEP meetings, advocating for your child, and parental rights.
