How to request accommodations

A CCBC student may request a reasonable accommodation related to a disability by scheduling an appointment with a DSS Counselor in one of the CCBC Disability Support Services offices.

Support is provided for individuals with deafness and hearing disabilities, blindness and low vision, health impairments, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, orthopedic impairments, psychiatric disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, traumatic brain injuries, and other disabilities.

New students

  • If you are planning to attend CCBC and you have a disability, we recommend that you meet with a counselor in the DSS office on the campus you will attend prior to taking your placement tests and registering for classes.
  • Bring documentation of your disability with you to the meeting with the Counselor (or provide it to the Office prior to the appointment so the Counselor has the opportunity to review it before meeting you).
  • The DSS Counselor will discuss your eligibility for reasonable accommodations and share information with you about how to access those accommodations.

Remember to complete a new Accommodation Request Form (“Blue form”) each semester in order to have accommodation letters prepared for your new classes.
