CCBC is selected for a national initiative to enhance noncredit workforce education by elevating student voices and fostering policy innovation.

Baltimore County, MD (March 9, 2026) — Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is proud to announce its selection as one of only 15 colleges nationwide to participate in Student Voices Informing Practice in Noncredit Workforce Education.

This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Education and Employment Research Center at Rutgers University (EERC) and the National Council for Workforce Education (NCWE).

Aimed at strengthening workforce education, it is designed to bridge the gap between research and campus practice. By joining this select peer learning community, CCBC will focus on:

  • Elevating Student Perspectives: Gaining a deeper understanding of the experiences of students enrolled in noncredit workforce programs.
  • Empowering Faculty and Staff: Highlighting the insights of the professionals who oversee and deliver these critical programs.
  • Driving Policy Change: Using student and practitioner expertise to improve learner outcomes and guide the implementation of Workforce Pell at the local and national levels.
  • Program Innovation: Advancing and strengthening the services and policies that support workforce students.

CCBC joins a dynamic network of institutions representing a broad range of geographies, structures, and student populations. This partnership ensures that the future of noncredit education is driven by the real-world experiences of the people on our campuses.
