Get off to a smart start!
New Student Orientation (NSO) sessions are held each year, and our First-Year Experience (FYE) program offers a variety of services to meet your needs!
The date of your first class will determine when you should attend an NSO session:
Fall Start: August
Spring Start: January
Approximately 24 hours after you register for fall or spring your courses, you should receive an NSO email invitation to the personal email address that you provided on your CCBC application. If you do not receive this email invitation, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you register after our NSO sessions have occurred or you are starting classes in the winter or summer term or as a late-start student mid-semester, you should complete this form to request a transition meeting. Upon completion of the form, we will contact you to confirm a meeting time. If you do not hear from us within one week, please contact us at email@example.com.For a more detailed explanation of our FYE offerings, please see our program descriptions:
New Student Orientation (NSO)
Part I: Get Informed
Students should view the Online New Student Orientation to learn important information about CCBC:
- Academic Pathways
- The Culture of College
- Co-Curricular Involvement
- Campus Resources
- Campus Safety, Parking, & Other Policies
- Technology & OneCard Services
Part II: Get Connected
These large group sessions are for students who are new to the college and have enrolled in classes. They are held in January and August each year. NSO provides students with great information about what they will experience both inside and outside of the classroom. The sessions start with an opportunity to connect with faculty and learn more about CCBC's Academic Pathways and classroom expectations. The remainder of the session is modeled after an Escape Room experience and engages students in activities to learn important tips about CCBC! A campus tour is also included.
Sign up to come to campus for our NSO Escape Room! Send an email with "Orientation Help" in the subject line so that you can reserve your space today!
