Application Process

Students applying for the Dental Hygiene program must first be admitted to the college. Admitance to the college does not constitute admission to the dental hygiene program. To be accepted into the program, students MUST complete and submit the Selective Admission Application on or before deadline.

female dental student The Dental Hygiene program is limited to the number of students that may be admitted for each class based on the size of the clinical facility and student-to-faculty ratios. Minimum criteria are established to be eligible for placement in the applicant pool and must be met by the application deadline. Final selection will be made using a ranking system which takes into account one’s overall GPA, science GPA, grades for prerequisite courses, and the completion of other general education courses required for graduation.

Steps

  1. Apply to CCBC.

  2. Contact the case manager.

  3. Complete all prerequisite courses by the April 15th deadline.

  4. Complete and submit the Selective Admissions Application along with the $15 fee to the Bursar's office by the application deadline.

  5. Submit all external transcripts, CLEP scores, Advanced Placement scores, and evaluations of international transcripts along with the Technical Standards,Observation and sealed Recommendation forms, as one packet, to the Office of Selective Admissions by the application deadline.

  6. Complete and submit the Technical Standards, Observation, and all three Recommendation forms all found in the DHP Admission Packet, to Selective Admissions by the application deadline.
  7. ALL FORMS, RECOMMENDATIONS, AND TRANSCRIPTS MUT BE SUBMITTED TO THE OFFICE OF SELECTIVE ADMISSIONS AS ONE COMPLETE PACKET BY THE ADMISSIONS DEADLINE. The Selective Admissions Application will still go to the Bursar's Office along with the $15 fee.

  8. Complete the Test for Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) and attend information session prior to the application deadline. Contact the program director to determine information session dates and times 443-840-3495.

  9. ALL APPLICANTS MUST TAKE THE TEAS TEST AND ATTEND AN DENTAL INFORMATION SESSION.
