School of Health Professions

The degree programs are generally two-year courses of study that allow the student to achieve either an Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science degree. Graduates of the Physician Assistant program receive a certificate that allows registration for a national certification examination and a Master of Science degree from Towson University.

There are also two Allied Health programs that are articulated with Harford Community College:  Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (EEG) and Histotechnology. For these two programs, students complete general education and prerequisite science courses at CCBC Essex and transfer to Harford Community College for clinical courses. These students graduate from Harford Community College.

Each program prepares graduates who are eligible, to take certification examinations given by state and national certification agencies. Each program is currently accredited by a state or national accreditation agency.
