CLEP EXAMINATIONS

The CLEP General Examinations test broad areas of general knowledge in five areas; the CLEP Subject Examinations measure knowledge in specific areas. Attainment of the scores listed below, with essay examinations where required, will earn the credits indicated.

CCBC Essex is a Baltimore area Test Center for CLEP exams. The cost is $72 per examination with a $25 administration charge. CCBC does not charge any additional fees for transcription of these credits. It is necessary to have the results sent to the Registrar at the CCBC Catonsville, Dundalk or Essex campus in order to be awarded the credits. Registration forms and testing information are available at CCBC-Essex by calling 410-780-6901. For more information about CLEP and a list of CLEP exams visit the following site: www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/prep.html.

The applicability of these credits to degree or certificate requirements is made by the appropriate department/program administrators. All credit awards are subject to existing CCBC policies. The transferability and application of these credits to other two year and four year college requirements varies greatly. Students are encouraged to make themselves aware of specific APL policies at other colleges.
