Camp Overview
The Catonsville Campus of The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is extremely pleased to announce the return of Camp Heritage. Camp Heritage, located at and operated by CCBC Catonsville and licensed by the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is designed for children who will have completed kindergarten through fifth grade by June, 2008. Children who have completed sixth and seventh grade are eligible to be selected to participate in our Counselor-in-Training Program. The children are grouped according to their grade completed by June, 2008, with daily group sizes of between 24 and 30 campers.
Our curriculum is created to immerse your child in a wide variety of programs that provide an enriching and memorable camp experience. The programs include Swimming, Arts and Crafts, Sports and Games, Nature and the Environment, Performing and Creating, Table Games & Discovery Time, and Special Events. Each program focuses on activities that encourage the children to explore their potential, build relationships, and develop self confidence. The camp has two (2) four (4) week sessions but also offers flexible six and seven week options.
Camp Heritage offers your camper a wide variety of facilities including an indoor swimming pool, air conditioned activity rooms, a spacious multi-purpose gymnasium, and four outdoor playing fields. Camp Heritage also utilizes a two-way radio system located among administrative staff, support staff, and at program sites to promote ease of communication. Pending construction of a new library at CCBC Catonsville, please note that Camp Heritage may relocate some of its programming from Building T trailers on parking lot 8 to classrooms in Buildings E and K.
