CCBC CATONSVILLE WOMEN'S SOCCER COACHING STAFF

matt reed

Coach Reed coached high school soccer for more than five years before joining the CCBC Catonsville women’s soccer staff in 2008. He brings with him extensive playing experience. He played four years at Old Mill High School, and then moved on to the adult amateur leagues. Meanwhile, Coach Reed was progressively drawn into coaching and training youth players and club teams. His soccer knowledge and sound capabilities in anaerobic and aerobic fitness are invaluable assets to the program. Drawing on his own experience and training, he specializes in the preparation of goalkeepers and defenders. He is also the assistant coach for the highly successful CCBC Catonsville women’s lacrosse team.

Coach Tom Taylor has been coaching for 37 years at various high schools including Towson Catholic, North County and Glen Burnie. Coach Taylor coached at CCBC Catonsville from 1990 to 1999 as the women’s head soccer coach taking his teams to the national tournament on four occasions, and finishing as high as second in the nation. He took over the women's lacrosse program in 2000 and has led the Lady Cardinals to eight straight National Tournaments, winning the national championship six times. He attributes his success to strong team leadership and his assistant coach Matt Reed. Coach Taylor returned to the women's soccer program to help them get back to national contention under the guidance of newly appointed Coach Walcott.
