Banneker Planetarium: “Eclipses and the Sun"

August 21 marks the first solar eclipse to occur in the continental US in nearly thirty years, and it will be followed by another in only seven years’ time, in 2024. In both cases, the event will NOT occur over Maryland, but close enough that people can drive to the Path of Totality within a day or can see a partial eclipses right here (if no clouds). Learn about why eclipses are rare and special, and how to safely view one.
Outdoor observing afterward, weather permitting.
