WELD 101 – 4 Credits
Burning and Welding I
Introduces oxy-fuel braze welding, oxy-fuel flame cutting, and shielded-metal arc welding. Covers the history of welding, safety, and terminology. Develops correct welding procedures for various applications; uses lab work to enhance welding skills.
Prerequisites: RDNG 052 or ESOL 054; or ACLT 052; and MATH 081
Corequisite: ENGL 051 or ESOL 042
WELD 102 – 4 Credits
Burning and Welding II
Continues study of welding and burning concepts of oxy fuel welding, oxy fuel brazing, oxy fuel flame cutting, and shielded metal arc welding. Emphasizes theory and welding projects and increases understanding of the total welding discipline. Develops additional skills in resistance welding and pipe welding.
