Transfer Pattern Description:

Program Description
This degree program is designed to serve students who plan to transfer to majors in the visual or performing arts culminating in the Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Music. Graduates of the AFA degree program will be able to:

  • Recognize characteristics of lifelong learning: independent thinking, self-discipline, and ethical behavior

  • Demonstrate the studio or performance skills needed to advance academic pursuits at the upper division level

  • Demonstrate the theoretical skills unique to each program concentration

  • Use analytical, critical, logical, and problem-solving skills in a variety of contexts

  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills that reflect an understanding of diversity and the need for teamwork

  • Communicate information to a variety of audiences using a variety of appropriate methods
