Intensive occupational training
These programs prepare adults for new careers or advance them in their
current ones. Career counseling and job placement assistance are
available. Individuals can begin training to pursue entry level,
intermediate and advanced skills training in selected fields. Programs
include:
Computer Applications for Business offers
intensive four- to six-week training in Internet and Microsoft Office
software skills needed to be competitive in today’s job market. Students
learn how to create documents, develop spreadsheets, build slide shows
and manage data.
CCBC’s Medical Office
Administrative Assistant program trains participants to work in
physician’s offices and perform front office duties. Students gain
fundamentals for the role of medical receptionist through a combination
of both teacher-led and hands-on learning experiences. Students practice
patient registration, charge entry, payment posting, accounts receivable
follow-up, electronic claim submission and financial report generation
using state-of-the-art medical office software.
Fiber Optic and Copper Network
Cabling provides hands-on job skills directly related to the
telecommunications industry. Mastery of basic techniques leads to more
sophisticated instruction on state-of-the-market equipment.
A+ Certification – PC Repair
Technician prepares students for CompTIA’s A+ Certification exam
while they plan for careers as service technicians in the PC industry.
Network+ Certification
prepares students for the Net+ Certification exam while they plan for
careers as Network Service Technicians in an Information Technology
customer-based environment.
Partnerships with regional
organizations such as the Baltimore County Workforce Development
Board and the Maryland Department of Education, Division of
Rehabilitation Services at the Workforce and Technology Center help
ensure access for individuals who may be unemployed or disadvantaged or
who have disabilities.
