2006-2007 CCBC College Catalog
Satisfactory Academic Progress for Financial Aid
U.S. Department of Education requires the college to establish standards
and monitor the academic progress of students to determine whether they
are meeting the requirements to receive Title IV financial aid. Students
who do not meet these standards will be placed on financial aid
probation or have their eligibility suspended.
Students must successfully complete more than 51% of credits attempted
for each of the last two academic semesters, including developmental
courses, and must maintain the following grade point averages for the
number of credits indicated below:

college’s academic standard criteria.)
Financial aid recipients will be reviewed for satisfactory progress at
the end of each semester. Students who do not meet the Satisfactory
Academic Progress standards will automatically be placed on probation
after one semester. Students who are suspended due to lack of academic
progress are ineligible for any further financial aid until satisfactory
academic progress is reestablished.
Any student who has been suspended from financial aid due to
unsatisfactory academic progress by not meeting one or all of the above
standards may appeal by completing a written appeal form with
documentation to the Financial Aid office. Once the appeal has been
reviewed, the student will be notified of the review in writing.
Students are allowed up to 98 attempted credits to complete their
program of study and receive financial funding. Students who have
completed an A.A. degree or 98 credits and wish to pursue additional
credits must meet with the designated financial aid officer for approval.
Students may take developmental courses and receive financial aid but
cannot exceed 30 semester hours of development course work without
special authorization from the financial aid officer.
