Want to make the world a better place? Concerned about the future?
Looking for a job where you can make a difference? CCBC
Environmental Science and Technology (ENVS) students work towards a
cleaner environment, improving their education and their careers —
all at the same time.
ENVS courses mix theory and principles of environmental science with
applied, hands-on experiences. Our students learn to monitor and
sample environmental conditions, use computer programs to solve
environmental problems, and explore environmental policies and
technologies. Many ENVS courses are now offered online via the world
wide web. A program highlight is the directed practicum where
credits are awarded for work at environmental companies, government
agencies or non-profit environmental organizations.
The ENVS program is designed for students planning to transfer to
four-year colleges, pursue employment upon graduation and upgrade
skills or pursue retraining. Students seeking transfer, career and
training options should contact the program coordinators at the
Catonsville, Dundalk and Essex campuses in order to develop an
individualized course plan.
