International Education
The Community College of Baltimore County is committed to providing students the opportunity to better understand the impact of the world upon their personal and professional lives. The International Education program at CCBC works to increase international student enrollment and to incorporate this population into the life of the institution.

CCBC has established links with institutions in England, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belize and Africa. Visiting scholars from these institutions have provided classroom instruction at CCBC. All International Education projects are designed to increase tolerance and understanding of other cultures and prepare students to live in a diverse world.

International student services
The Office of International Students at Essex provides the following programs and services to new and continuing international and immigrant students at the Dundalk and Essex campuses:

  • Advising and registration sessions
  • Welcome and orientation programs
  • Immigration-related advising to assist F-1 students to maintain their legal status while in the U.S. and to understand applicable federal regulations and college policies
  • Individual and group advising for non-native speakers of English in career and technology programs (Essex campus only)
  • Cross-cultural orientation, adjustment and referral to other services as needed
  • Transitional support for students seeking health insurance, transportation, banking, legal and other services in the community
  • Intercultural programs and activities to foster interaction and increased appreciation among international and U.S. students
  • Updates to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security of continuing F-1 students’ registration, address changes, and other events through the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)

The Office of Admissions at Catonsville provides the following programs and services to international and immigrant students at the Catonsville campus:

  • Welcome and Orientation programs for new international and immigrant students
  • Advisement of visa, immigration, financial, health insurance and employment matters from pre-arrival to departure
  • Updates to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security of continuing F-1 students’ registration, address changes and other events through the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)
  • Cross-cultural orientation, adjustment and referral to other services as needed
  • Intercultural programs and activities to foster interaction and increased appreciation among international and U.S. students
  • Intensive English language training
  • Social and recreational activities through the International Club, Student Life and the Office of Multicultural Affairs
  • Interpretation of college regulations, policies and procedures.
