FEDERAL LOANS
More about federal loans
Eligibility for a loan is determined
by financial need and may be part of students’ financial aid packages.
In addition to the FAFSA, students must submit separate loan request
applications. All forms and additional information may be obtained from
the Financial Aid office.
Loan application requirements
In addition to the general
requirements for financial aid, loan applicants must meet these
additional requirements:
-
First-time, first-year undergraduate borrowers must attend an entrance
interview with a Financial Aid professional. Any loan application can
be denied based on the professional judgment of a Financial Aid
officer.
-
All borrowers must attend an exit interview.
-
Loan disbursement for first-time borrowers occurs 30 days into the
semester.
-
Student borrowers must be enrolled in a program leading to a degree or
certificate.
-
Grade point averages, number of completed credits, current course work
and previous loans will be reviewed.
-
Students must be enrolled in at least six credits/billable hours for
standard semesters and six credits/billable hours combined for summer
sessions.
