One flat, square watercolor brush, approximately size 10. (If you go into any art supply store they will be able to direct to the watercolor brushes. A pre-packaged set of paint tubes usually has all you need to get a firm start on watercolor painting. Or if you opt for pans, I would suggest spending no less than $25 on a set. Make sure it has at least 12 pans of different colors. Watercolor brushes *(not oil or acrylic brushes!!!!) Look for short handles, as opposed to oil/acrylic brushes, which have long handles. You should purchase the Round style, and have at least 1 very small, 1 medium, and 1 very large brush. Watercolor Paper: Please buy 2 full sized sheets of Hot Press and 2 full sheets of Cold Press. Each of these should be 140# The full sheet is 22” x 30”. General Supplies: 1 “Drawing Board” that is large enough to put your whole sheet of paper on. You will have to tape your paper to these boards. 1 roll of blue painters tape , A Jar with lid for water , 1 roll of tissue or paper towels, and a palette *(I suggest buying a plastic palette with lots of open space and a few compartments to separate colors. Do not get small circular palette, as these are mainly meant for inks.)
