ENGLISH LANGUAGE CENTER (ELC)
PLACEMENT TESTING AND REGISTRATION:

ATTEND THE ELC AT CCBC ESSEX!

If CCBC or Baltimore County Public Schools are closed for any of these dates, please call 410-455-4768 for other dates to register.

 

Step 1

Go to the January 26 registration to be assessed for an ELC class at CCBC Essex. There are no phone or mail-in registrations for ELC classes.

Step 2

Arrive promptly for the placement test(s) you will take.

 

 

9:00 am Writing & Grammar Placement Test (45 Minutes)
This test should be taken by all students wishing to register for:
Writing/Grammar 2
More Writing/Grammar 2

10:30am Reading Placement Test (35 Minutes)
This test should be taken by all students wishing to register for:
Reading & Vocabulary 2
College Connections 2

11:45am Listening Placement Test (35 Minutes)
This test should be taken by all students wishing to register for:
Conversation 2
Advanced Conversation 2

Step 3

Register for your class. You will be given payment instructions. Checks, money orders, and credit cards are accepted. No cash please. Make checks payable to CCBC. (Non-Baltimore County residents add a $5 fee to the cost of each class.)

 

 

To register for Lifeskills ESOL-Beginning, Lifeskills ESOL-Intermediate, and integrated Skills see the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Spring Regional Registration Chart.

•Students must be at least 16 years of age and withdrawn from high school to enroll.
•If a student is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian is required to come to registration and sign the registration form.
