This section lists all major IT certification offerings from CCBC. We also have the ability to offer certifications not listed. Please contact us at 410-455-4515 with any questions.

Purpose:

Each certification provides an opportunity to deepen your knowledge and skill set around a given technology.

  • Start a new career in six months or less.
  • Earn a Continuing Education certificate and prepare for a trade certification exam.
  • Full and part time options available.
  • Full-time workplace skills training at Catonsville, Essex, Hunt Valley, and Eastpoint.
  • Payment plans are available for some programs.

A+ Certification PC Repair Technician Program 130 hours of Training!!!
Total Cost: $1,595 (Tuition: $1,052 Fees: $543)

Learn PC repair and installation while studying for the CompTIA's A+ Certification exam. Prepare for a career as a service technician in the PC industry. PC knowledge is recommended. This course may be taken for academic credit or on a non-credit basis. Cost of the course includes text, lab book, tool kit and test voucher.

Upon completion of this course, the student will demonstrate preparedness for taking the A+ Certification.

Module 1: Introduction to PC Operations and Repair – Hardware
Module 2: Computer System Operations, Maintenance & Troubleshooting Operating Systems
Module 3: Test Preparation: This is a review class for CompTIA’s A+ Certification Exam, including review of concepts and test preparation - 2006 Objectives

This class is also offered for credit as DCOM 141, CRN#52155 and DCOM 235, CRN# 60601.

READY TO WORK SERIES

If you are entering the workforce for the first time, returning to work after a long absence or starting a new career, these courses are for you. Take the course you need or the entire series. These classes are taught at a slower pace for people who are new to computers and/or want more time for practice. Practice projects with instructor feedback are included.

A Simplified Guide to Using the Computer, Internet and E-mail
(18 hours) 9 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Total Cost: $239 (Tuition: $113 Fees: $126)

This class is simplified for those with little or no Computer experience who would like a slow-paced learning environment. Gain knowledge of basic operating system concepts and the vocabulary needed to work in a Windows environment. Learn to use the World Wide Web to your advantage. Find out how to search for information, shop, take classes and get the news. Topics include the desktop, online Help, and file management. Discover how to open and send messages, create a contact list, and utilize attachments using E-mail.

Discover how to format cells, add borders and shading, move and copy data. Find out how to insert formulas, sort and filter data in a list, and create charts. Includes textbook.
