NURSING ASSISTANT

New Requirements!

Beginning Spring 2009, all students must complete Medical Terminology prior to taking Nursing Assistant.

This Maryland Board of Nursing approved course prepares you to function as a nursing assistant in a variety of healthcare settings. Upon completion of Theory and Clinical, you are eligible to take the state GNA certification examination. To receive an award of completion, you must successfully complete both Nursing Assistant Theory and Clinical. Perfect attendance is mandatory for all classes and clinical. Clinical placement provides experience in area nursing homes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Proof of current negative TB skin test or a negative chest x-ray reading required before admission to clinical. Clinical eligibility is in part dependant upon a criminal background check and possible random urine drug testing. Cost of testing is the responsibility of the student. Textbook(s), available at the campus bookstore, required for the first class. Please call 443-840-1389.
