Lifeskills ESOL – Beginning
(ESOL Básico)
Learn basic English for workplace and community settings. Classes start in September and continue for 10 weeks/60 hours, two times a week. New students must take a pre-test at registration. Materials included. To register see ESOL Program Placement Testing and Registration.

ESOL Advanced: Let's Talk about American Culture
Improve the level of fluency, and accuracy in oral conversations. Designed to help advanced foreign born adults, topics to be covered include: speaking and listening skills, the American family, cultural diversity, government and politics in the United States, cultural conversations in workplace and academic settings. 10 weeks/60 hours. Book included.
Cost: $ 195 (Tuition: $132 Fees: $63)

English Pronunciation for Foreign Speakers (ESOL Pronunciation)
Develop the ability to be better understood. Designed for non-native advanced English speakers, topics include: International Phonetic Alphabet, techniques to improve vowel and consonants sounds, stress, and intonation. 10 weeks/60 hours. Book included.

ESOL Advanced Reading, Writing & Editing 2
Develop a firm basis in specific reading, writing, and editing skills. Designed to help advanced foreign born adults, topics to be covered include: identifying discourse markers, compound and complex sentence structure, paragraph organization, drafting and revising, and self and peer editing. 10 weeks/60 hours. Book included.

ESOL Advanced English for Healthcare Professions
Improve your job-related communication skills in the Healthcare Service Industry. Enhance your oral communications skills to meet your immediate job demands and to advance in your career field. Designed to help to assist advanced level foreign born adults, topics include: improving grammar skills, understanding complex instructions, interpreting schedules, performing customer care tasks, learning job-specific terminology and common staff roles/responsibilities, and identifying the structure of a medical facility. 10 weeks/60 hours. Book included.

ESOL Advanced English for Hospitality Professions
Improve your job-related communication skills in the Hotel and Food Service Industries. Enhance your oral communications skills to meet your immediate job demands and to advance in your career field. Designed to assist advanced level foreign born adults, topics include: improving grammar skills, understanding complex instructions, interpreting schedules, performing customer care tasks, learning job-specific terminology and common staff roles/responsibilities, and identifying the structure of a hotel or food catering facility. 10 weeks/60 hours. Book included.
Cost: $ 295 (Tuition: $227 Fees: $68)

Classes fill up quickly, so call in advance to enroll. Students are registered in order of the date they call and pay over the phone. No pre-test necessary. You must call at least 4 business days prior to the class start date if you wish to withdraw and receive a refund.

ESOL Family Literacy for Parents and Children
mprove reading, speaking, writing and listening skills focusing on materials used in everyday situations. Designed for parents and their elementary school aged or younger children topics include training on parents as full partners in their children's education. Pre-school and/or childcare provided, with educational activities that focus on the preparation of children for success in school and other life experiences. Parenting groups and home visits offered. Call during class times to register. Winter classes start
January 4, 2010.
