Beginning ESOL- Lifeskills*Grant Funded-No Cost ( ESOL Básico) This course will help beginning students learn basic English for workplace and community settings. Topics to be covered include: simple questions and answers, filling out forms, understanding time and numbers, and following directions. ESOL Advanced Reading, Writing & Editing 2 $175, $55 seniors (ESOL Avanzado en Lectura, Escritura y Revisión) This course is designed to help advanced foreign born adults with advanced ESOL skills develop a firm basis in specific reading, writing, and editing skills. Topics to be covered include: reading and vocabulary strategies, identifying discourse markers and rhetorical devices, determining writer's purpose, identifying genre, complex sentence structure, paragraph and essay organization, self and peer editing. 7 weeks/45 hours. ESOL Family Literacy for Parents and Children *Grant Funded – No Fee This class is designed for parents and their elementary school aged or younger children. Helps improve reading, speaking, writing and listening skills focusing on materials used in everyday, family, school, and job-related situations. Class includes training for parents on how to be full partners in their children's education. Pre-school and/or childcare provided, with educational activities that focus on the preparation of the children for success in school and other life experiences. Parenting groups and home visits offered. Daytime classes are available. Call the site you want to attend to make an appointment to be assessed.

Grammar for ESL Online $99, $99 seniors (Tuition: $20 Fees: $ 79) This 6-week online course includes in-depth analysis of English grammar for intermediate to advanced English as Second Language college students. Structure of Standard English is explored in order to prepare the learner for regular mainstream English classes. Topics include a review of all tenses, the use of modals, the adjective clause, the noun clause, the adverb clause, phrases, count and non-count nouns, and some English terms.
