Classes for Gifted & Talented Students

The CCBC Youth Enrichment Center is pleased to offer enrichment classes for gifted and talented students in grades 3-8 who are participants in the Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) G/T Program. Please fill out the enclosed form and have your school G/T facilitator or principal confirm your G/T status. For non-Baltimore County Public Schools students, please email Ang Robinson. Fun with Poetry for Children (Grades 3-5) $85
In this creative writing class, young, budding poets learn to write rhymed and unrhymed poetry, funny and serious, and what makes good verse. Instructor: Donna Rongione

Kitchen Chemistry: The Science of Baking (Grades 5-7) $75
The fun of cooking…the excitement of chemistry experiments. Learn to bake breads/ biscuits/muffins. Food fee of $30 payable at first class.

Explore Ecology at the Pearlstone Farm (Grades 4-6) $95
Study the ecology of the wetlands environment at the Pearlstone Farm by participating in planting, harvesting, cooking, hiking and more. Lab fee of $20 payable at first class. The address of the farm is 5425 Mt. Gilead Rd., Reisterstown, MD 21136.

Science Adventure: Exploring Biology (Grades 5-7) $125
An overview of basic principles of biology including human biology, evolution, genetics, and ecology through a variety of experiments. Instructor: Albert Shulley

CSI: Forensic Detectives (Grades 5-8) $125
Learn to collect and identify fingerprints, examine hair and fiber evidence, identify blood splatter patterns, participate in crime lab, analyze questioned documents and much more. Instructors: Sara Mullin and Jeff Blizzard
