Shared Courses

Since 1998, CCBC has been involved in an online course-sharing consortium with other colleges throughout the state. This group was originally known as MCCT, the Maryland Community College Teleconsortium. MCCT no longer exists, but the course-sharing activities it initiated are being continued by a larger statewide consortium called Maryland Online (MOL).

How Course Sharing Works

Course sharing through MOL provides an expanded pool of online courses to Maryland students. Each participating college offers to the consortium certain courses that may be adopted by other member colleges. The adopted courses become part of that college's class schedule.

As a student at CCBC or at any other Maryland community college, you can enroll in online courses that your school may have adopted from other colleges. You will pay the same tuition as you would for any other online course. But the course will be taught by an instructor at another college, and the course calendar will follow that of the instructor's institution. Your grade will appear on your home school transcript.
