Before Registering for an Online Class

Step 1: Assess your readiness for online learning.

Taking this quick Self Assessment Test will help you determine how well distance learning courses fit your personal circumstances and characteristics.

Check your technical savvy to determine whether you have basic technical skills required of online students.

Step 2: Check the technical requirements for online courses.

Go to the Technical Requirements page to make sure that your computer meets the basic requirements for:

Internet access
hardware requirements
software requirements
browser configuration

Step 3: Review the public pages for the courses that interest you.

Go back to the CCBC Online Classes page and click on the appropriate class schedule.

Scroll down the alphabetical list of online courses to find those that interest you.

Click on the underlined course code (such as ENGL 101) to access the public pages for the course. You will also find the instructor's name and phone number and a link to his/her email account.

Use the links in the navigation bar on the left side of the course Welcome page to explore course information including prerequisites, schedule, support services, syllabus (including course orientation and required texts), and a Sample Module.

Step 4: Register for your course.

If you are not a currently enrolled CCBC student, apply for admission to CCBC.

Register for your course.

If you are registering online through the CCBC Online Information System (SIMON) and have questions or problems with the system, please contact Records and Registration.
